Secondary Partners in After-school Community Education
The 21st CCLC Program is a key component of President Bush’s No Child Left Behind Act. It is an opportunity for student and their families to continue to learn new skills and discover new abilities after the school day has ended.

Rock Point Community School serves an isolated, rural population with the need for a safe, orderly, effective after-school environment that will support the elevation of educational attainment in the area.

There is the need to improve the education and awareness levels of adults and families due to 55% of the population of Rock Point having high school diplomas or higher compared to 80% of the US population. Our SPACE can provide information to open doors to higher education for the parents of RPC and their families.

“Students who participate in the school-based after-school programs seemed to experienced positive changes in four key areas: staying out of trouble; improving school attitudes and behaviors; strengthening their social  networks; and learning new skills, seeing new possibilities, and improving self confidence.”
