1st

Students will become aware of the different types of traditional clothing

Students will observe the different types of animals and name them.

Student will explore the different types of Navajo Art.

Know the four clans and the origin of their first two clans and show relationship

Know their responsibility at their age at home.

Know that plants are important to the Navajo’s and other ethnic groups

2nd

Students will become aware and know the purpose of the different types of clothing

Students will be able to name the animals and recognize how they are important part of our culture

Students will name the different types of Navajo Art and what materials are being used.

Know the four clans and the origin of the two clans and be able to geographically know relationship

Know the responsibility at their age and explain the purpose of their part of their responsibility

Name the different types of plant foods and plant as medicine.

Students will compare the different types of clothing and know the purpose

Students will research the details of how they are used in the present/past.

Students will state the purpose of each Navajo art and explain the representation of the different elements

Know the four clans and identify other clans that are related to them, know the origin and geographical relation

Identify the importance of home chores and how it impacts the lifestyle and deficiencies it might cause

Explain the importance and purpose of each plant and explore how they are prepared.

Students will research when the clothing came about be able to know the representation of the different types of clothing

Students will explore the procedures of how each animal is productive to our culture and be able to know the sacredness of each animal

Students will know the history of each art and explain the representation, sacredness, and how each item is used today and in the pass

Know the four clans and the historic timelines of the clan system. Be able to research their kinship moved about to Rock Point and who is rel.

Research the historic duties of a male and female and explain how compare today’s domestic life and apply how they would contribute.

Identify the cultural aspect of each plant and know the historic use of each plant and name the geographical areas of each plant.

Students will present and report the various types of clothing including the geographical, historic, economic and cultural aspects

Students will present the details of each animal and how they affect us economically, culturally, historically and future.

Students will research the historic, economic, cultural, and be able to demonstrate the process of each art and show appreciation

Know the four clans and present who they are in relation to their clan and what they represent. Be able to model a family tree and explain.

Explain how domestic responsibilities affect their future and explain their future goals.

Select certain plants and do a research on that particular plant to explain the historic, cultural use, and economical purpose.
